HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN INTERVIEW - STEP 2

- Step 2. - On the day of the interview

From the first part, you know how to prepare for the interview in advance. Now read what awaits you on the day of the interview.

1. Dress representatively

Don't forget to plan in advance  what you will wear for the interview . Your clothes should be decent (and therefore not very provocative), clean and always one degree more formal than you normally dress for work. Make sure you feel confident and comfortable in your clothes and that the choice of clothes corresponds to the position you are applying for.

2. Prepare all materials

Make sure you have all the necessary materials ready. You should not miss a printed  CV ,  cover letter  and possibly a work report.

3. Be precise - no delays!

It is ideal to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled date of the interview. You will have enough time to get used to the new environment and get acquainted with the corporate culture. If you have never been to a company headquarters, plan your trip the day before. Don't leave anything to chance.

4. Fresh breath and personal hygiene

Don't forget to bring menthol candies with you or brush your teeth before the interview to keep you fresh. Needless to say, you should not forget about personal hygiene. Every HR specialist will tell you that there is nothing worse than fighting during a body odor interview.

5. Appearance and body language

  • Be nice from the first moment you come to the company - you never know who is watching you.
  • Remember that body language is very important.
  • Smile and be polite.
  • Make sure your handshake is firm - test your handshake with someone you know will tell you the truth (ie a friend or family member) to get the right balance. There is nothing worse than a weak handshake.
  • Do not cross your arms, yawn, lean or lean on your elbows.

TIP for graduates

You will not believe it, but it happens that young people come to an interview with one of the parents or with a partner. Such an accompaniment is not suitable, it gives the impression that you are independent, timid. The advice of a loved one is definitely needed, especially at a young age, but you always act for yourself at the interview as well as at work.

Now nothing will surprise you on the day of the interview. In addition, from the first part  , you know how to prepare for the interview in advance. So you have one last step - to convince yourself that you are the right one. See also Step 3. - During the interview.
